Little Movie Store South Philadelphia
The Story

A little movie store for the neighborhood

Little Movie Store is a video rental shop opening in Passyunk Square, South Philadelphia. A real one: shelves, cases, a counter, and a library of more than twenty thousand DVDs, Blu-rays, and VHS tapes.

It is run by Dylan and Keri, and the library came first. The shop exists so the collection can do what a collection should: circulate.

The idea is old and it works. You walk in with an evening to fill. Somebody who has actually seen the movies points you at three. You leave with the one you would never have scrolled to.

The Little Movie Club keeps it running: $100 a year, rentals from the library, member nights on the calendar. Founding memberships open before the doors do.
